How to Deal with a Defective Home

Posted by Jay Anthony

For generations, the American Dream has been to own a home.  Your home is your place in the world – land to call your own, a place of privacy, and where you and your family can be together.

Our country has a strong tradition of American homebuilders, who constructed the neighborhoods that form the basis of our society.  Unfortunately, some companies have entered the homebuilding market within the past few decades who seem concerned only with profits and not with creating homes.  The Anthony Law Firm has represented numerous clients in construction defect cases in which a homeowner purchased a home and didn’t get what he was bargaining for.

We have engaged in litigation against some of the largest homebuilding companies in the nation, such as D.R. Horton.  Our construction cases have involved homes with leaking windows, defective concrete, missing Tyvek, lousy roofing work, and significant water intrusion.  We regularly work with experts in the field of forensic consulting and engineering to determine the scope of the problems, figure out the necessary fix, and pursue claims against those who failed to do the work right.  Because most builders are insured for their work, we are often successful in recovering for our clients, even in situations where a builder or subcontractor has gone out of business.

If you have a home that has not met your expectations, we are glad to talk.
