Workers’ Compensation

If you are injured while on the job, you may have a claim for workers’ compensation benefits.  Under the South Carolina Worker’s Compensation Act, if an employee suffers an injury by accident arising out of and in the course of employment, the employee is entitled to recover medical expenses, temporary total compensation, and, where appropriate, permanent and  total disability benefits.  The Act contains a number of requirements concerning how an employee must report the accident, seek medical treatment, and file a claim.  Where the claim is denied, the employee must prove his or her case before the Commission.
